Matthew GreenWhat inspires you? Ask that question to Freestyle Fitness owner Matthew Green and he will tell you that it comes from the spirit within. He has worked closely with hundreds of personal clients in helping them find that spirit while coaching them to achieve their personal greatness. As a sought after motivational speaker Matthew has delivered key note addresses to audiences on topics such as "The Power of 1" : Exponential Influence, "Greatness Is Inside": Finding the Power Within, Life's Road Map, "Leadership 101": Integrity, Being, and Doing, and Identity: Equity vs Equality for such organizations as the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, Hamilton District School Board (at the elementary, high school, and board staff level), Six Nations Welfare, and New Credit of the Mississauga First Nations Health Promotions. As a speaker, coach, or personal fitness consultant Matthew Green is whole heartedly committed to improving the over all quality of live for his audiences and clients.

Matthew's gift as a powerful motivator brings 10 years of coaching experience to Freestyle Fitness. As an Acadia Axemen Alumni, Matthew spent 4 years in Nova Scotia as a Captain and 2-time Atlantic Conference All Star in the position of Free Safety. Upon graduation from Acadia University, he traveled to Munich, Germany to coach and play for the Starnberg Argonauts of the Bavarian American Football League. While overseas he was given the opportunity to work with two of Germany's top strength and conditioning coaches, Boris and Roman Boeven. This opportunity enabled him to develop both North American and European training techniques which together provide the knowledge and skill necessary to successfully attain an elite performance level.

Upon returning home to Hamilton, Matthew concluded his football career with the McMaster Marauders and began working with childhood friend Craig Spear at Freestyle Fitness. Together they created what has become Hamilton's premier Fitness Boot Camp program. In 2006 was the recipient of the prestigious JC Holland award for Sport due to his commitment to promoting active living in the community. A community activist, Matthew is committed to financially assisting youth pursue post secondary education through his involvement with various scholarship and bursary programs.

Currently Matthew can been watched on CH @ Home as a monthly reoccurring guest fitness expert, educating the viewers on various fitness interests. While sharing time between the Hamilton studio location and the Six Nations program Matthew is also the Conditioning Coach for the 2007 Junior A Minto Cup Champion Six Nations Arrows Express Lacrosse team and with this success was recently named the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Rochester Night Hawks of the National Lacrosse League. An expert of both physical and mental peak performance Matthew works to coach his athletes to compete at their highest peak potential.

Other groups and events he consults with include Hamilton Police Services, Hamilton Emergency Services, Hamilton AA/AAA Rep Minor hockey, Tom Longboat 10 km run, Six Nations Biggest Loser, Climb for Cancer, Six Nations March Break Kids Camp, New Credit March Break Camp, ILA Youth Soccer, Hamilton Conservation Authority, Six Nations Long Term Care, Iroquois National Lacrosse U 19 team, and the Afro Canadian Caribbean Association.
